Catalogue of an exhibition of Michèle Provost’s installation of a “boutique” displaying three product lines (action figures, trading cards, and comic book covers) made in homage to her artist super-heroes. The essay analyzes Provost’s investigation of contemporary consumer society in relation to various contrary spheres: collectibles, advertising, the museum, toys, merchandising, and the art world.
