“This site presents my recent series of drawings, Olympia. In these works, I respond to the odalisque figure in Manet’s infamous painting, Olympia, drawing it repeatedly to expose different relationships between the inner and the outer body. Through a personal identification with Victorine Meurent, Manet’s model, I illustrate a contemporary, subjective body.” – Kate Barry.
